The original gardens displayed on this new web site, have been transferred from my "Places to Go" site which was becoming rather large and unwieldy as it covers attractions in several areas around London and the UK.

All new gardens visited in the South of England are added directlly to this site as recorded in the updates list below.

If you love gardens as much as I do, you should enjoy your visit . Any comments relating to the site will be much appreciated.

New Additions in March 2004
My first garden visit this spring was to Highdown Gardens in Worthing Sussex, see what you think.

I have also added a new page containing some Wallpaper images for your PC, plus a small screensaver that can be downloaded.

New additions in May 2004
We visited Merriments Gardens in East Sussex to discover many unusual plants.
A new page featuring Great Comp Garden at Borough Green in Kent.
Additional photographs added to the Eltham Palace page

New additions in June 2004
We visited Polesden Lacey a Regency villa and gardens near Dorking in Surrey.
A return visit to add additional photographs to the page on Chartwell, Churchills home in Kent.

New addition in August 2004
We visited Titsey Place a little publicised but stunning historic estate in surrey.

New addition in November 2004
We made our regular annual visit to Sheffield Park page Autumn Colours in 2004.

New additions in December 2004
Some new wallpapers and a new screen saver have been selected for 2005. These have been chosen from images captured during the current year.
Additional images have been added to some pages especially in Kent gardens.

New additions in January 2005
Originating from a suggestion made by one of the visitors to my site, I have now added a link from most pages to the official website of the attraction. This is to provide information on current opening times and admission charges.

New additions in April 2005
New images taken this month have been added to the Hever Castle and Eltham Palace pages.
Also new pages for recent visits to The Owl House Gardens and Higham Park House & Gardens in Kent
I have revisited the splendid Leeds Castle in Kent and completely updated the text plus many new photo's.

Revisited Emmetts Garden to view the Bluebells and Azelia's.
Revisited Scotney Castle Garden for a new set of photographs at its springtime best.
Revisited Borde Hill Gardens to capture the late spring colours of azaleas and rhododendrons.
A new page created for National trust Standen near East Grinstead in West Sussex.

New Additions for June 2005
A further visit to Nymans Garden, one of the great gardens in the Sussex Weald. with new photographs.
A further visit to Eltham Palace to photograph the summer flower borders.

New Additions for July 2005
Revisiting Winston Churchill's Chartwell garden for some new photo's. A new page added for Loseley Park near Guildford in Surrey. New views of Pashley Manor Gardens following a second visit. New images of the summer display at Great Comp Garden in Kent. A new visit to Ightham Mote to view the recently completed restoration, with some new photo's.

New Additions for November 2005
My usual autumn visit to Sheffield Park to capture the lakeside colours.

New Addition for February 2006
I have created my own version of an Image Gallery featuring a selection of my favourite garden landscape photographs. The sizes are larger so please be patient with the images loading (unless you have broadband).

New Additions for March 2006
After a long winter an early visit to Eltham Palace to try out my new Panasonic 8MP camera. View the updated images of the palace interior and South Moat Bridge etc.

New Additions for April and May 2006
A further visit to Hever Castle to view the latest displays of spring flowers, a new page has been added.
Areturn to Kew Gardens in spring 2006 complete with new camera, to capture some quality photo's.
More photographs from Knole Park at Sevenoaks in Kent, including the deer and Walled Garden
Further pictures from Emmetts Garden in Kent which capture this years bumper display of Bluebells, a new page has been added.
New gardens in Kent are getting more difficult to find but Riverhill House is a springtime garden that I have not visited before.

New Additions for June 2006
A return visit to Ightham Mote to collect some new images including the early summer colour.
A new relatively unknown garden called Charts Edge has been added to my Kent Gardens section.
Following a repeat visit to Penshurst Place, I have completely replaced the previous web page with an improved set of new images.
A return summer visit to Eltham Palace to photograph the herbaceous borders.
A brief return visit to Churchills Chartwell to check on the 2006 gardens.

New Additions for April & May 2007
Now that spring has returned, I am able to revisit some of my favourite gardens and historic buildings starting with some new photographs of Eltham Palace in London SE9.
Also another return visit to restored Ightham Mote in Kent and some vibrant spring colour at nearby Hever Castle. Our annual visit to Emmetts Garden in Kent to view the show of Bluebells.
A return visit to Knole House and deer park at Sevenoaks in Kent, also close by a second visit to a lesser known spring garden called Riverhill House Gardens.
A return visit to the legendary spring colour of Leonardslee Gardens and a major update to the web page. Some news and images from Wisley Gardens.
A visit in May to view the late spring vista from the Bastion at Scotney Castle Garden.

New Additions for June & July 2007
A new page added to illustrate my first visit to Great Dixter, Christopher Lloyds home in East Sussex.

New Additions for August 2007
A return visit to a blooming Charts Edge Gardens following the prolonged summer rain, with many new pictures. This was followed by another visit to Nymans Garden to catch the Walled Garden borders in bloom.
My Favourite Landscapes Gallery has been updated for 2007.

November 2007

.March 2008 - New - Video's included
I have decided to include short embedded video's from some future garden visits and start off with video's of Eltham Palace and Wisley Garden Glasshouse. Please let me know if you encounter problems viewing these and I will try to correct them. Due to the large file sizes a broadband connection will be preferred to view the video's.

May 2008
A return visit to Riverhill House Gardens including a short video clip. A spring visit to the charming Charts Edge gardens at Westerham in Kent.

August to October summer 2008
New gardens to add to my site are getting harder to find, at least within a short car ride from home. But I have managed to locate two worthwhile additions in Surrey plus one in Kent.
A fabulous new garden at Cherkley Court and a hidden oasis of calm in the London suburbs Morden Hall Park.. In Kent Chiddingstone Castle is a splendid historical building with pleasant grounds but little in the way of cultivated gardens as yet.
I hope you enjoy exploring them.

I also made a second visit to the privatety owned garden Marle Place at Brenchley Kent, and a return to Hever Castle in Kent to view the Rose Garden at its best. While the roses were still at their peak we also paid a visit to the Elizabethan gardens at Penshurst Place near Tonbridge in Kent. The Cutting Garden at Ightham Mote was vibrant in June.
A few new pictures have been added to the pages on Winston Churchill's home at Chartwell in Kent and also Nymans Garden in Sussex and Titsey Place in Oxted Surrey. Finally an autumn visit to Leonardslee Gardens to see the Autumn colours and Dolls House Museum

January 2009
My wallpapers page has been partly updated with some photographs taken during my 2008 garden visits.

June 2009
Our first visit to a delightful private garden called Edenbridge house in Kent. Our earlier annual spring visit to the bluebell wood at Emmetts Garden and a summer visit to London to view the extraordinary Kensington Roof Gardensabove what was, Derry and Toms department store.

July 2010
I made return visits to several old favorites including Emmetts Garden in Kent, Nymans, Titsey Place in surrey and Borde Hill in Sussex and added some new photographs to each page.
I also made my first visit to Petworth in Sussex which is more of a landscape than a garden.

September 2010
The only new garden that I managed to discover within easy reach of home was Old Buckhurst Garden near Edenbridge in Kent. This was in late September so it was not at its best.

May 2011
I was invited to review a garden new to me in Kent called Hole Park Gardens, these proved to be rather special. As was another new garden Hall Place at Bexeyheath in Kent.

February 2012
I have at last found time to update the desktop Wallpapers collection not touched since 2008. Also to keep up with the times a Windows 7 Theme for Gardens-to-Go has been added.

July 2012
Repeat visits in 2012, for additional photographs, Titsey Place, Sissinghurst Gardens and Hall Place.
