Welcome to my new website Gardens to
Go, my name is David Ford and this site
records some of my favorite gardens
around London and the South East of England, which is where I live. Gardens to
Go is complementary to my other two photo collections "A personal Tour of
Yorkshire" and "Places to Go in London and the UK", see hyperlink
images on the right. Creating these websites has become a hobby of mine since
taking early retirement in the year 2000.The South East of England is very rich in gardens of all types, including landscape gardens, formal gardens, woodland gardens, historic gardens, stately homes, palaces, castles and many more. There are about 180 gardens to visit in Kent alone, so I hope to be able to continually add new pages and photographs to this site on a regular basis.

and further links to each garden page.
This site is non commercial and conveys some information about each garden
together with a few personal impressions and many photographs.The first pictures posted were scanned from photographs. I then purchased my first digital camera which was a Fuji Finepix 4700, this was later upgraded to a Fuji Finepix F700. Recently I have acquired a Panasonic DMC-FZ30 8MP which features a 12x zoom lens. The new technology moves so fast that you are regularly tempted to upgrade, good business for the manufacturers I suppose. I can strongly recommend the transfer from film to digital providing that you also have a modern computer, decent digital camera's are now available from about £150 and you will not regret the investment.
